read moreTicketek has launched its Ticketek App Clip, allowing fans with an iPhone to buy mobile tickets in as few as two taps in a world-first move set to revolutionise the event day experience.
Released with iOS 14, App Clips are a bite-sized version of an App that give customers access to an App’s main functions without having to download the full App to their phones.
Fans can launch the Ticketek App Clip on their iPhone outside Ticketek venues by scanning a designated QR code or tapping an NFC tag, then securely purchase tickets in just two taps using Apple Pay.
Tickets can be delivered straight to a customer’s iPhone and stored in Apple Wallet, making it the quickest way to buy tickets on event day, whether fans have downloaded the Ticketek App or not.
Cameron Hoy, Managing Director of Ticketing for Ticketek’s parent company TEG, said the Ticketek App Clip is part of a suite of Ticketek products designed to digitally transform event day experiences and migrate customers away from traditional box offices to seamless, contactless technology.
Hoy enthused “we are thrilled to bring another world-first to Ticketek fans in the form of our fastest, most convenient path to purchase yet.
“The Ticketek App Clip will create a frictionless event day experience for fans, giving them access to mobile tickets in as few as two taps.”
The Ticketek App Clip was trialled successfully earlier this month at the world-famous Sydney Cricket Ground and will launch officially on Saturday 15th May at the Sydney Swans V Collingwood game at the SCG before being rolled out across Ticketek’s Australian venues then its global venue network.
SCG Chief Executive Kerrie Mather adds “we are delighted to be working with Ticketek as our ticketing and technology partner to bring world leading solutions to our customers. The Ticketek App Clip will make it even easier to see the biggest and best events live at the SCG.”
