Considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, the 20-time Grand Slam champion will pair up with Belinda Bencic for Team Switzerland to defend their 2018 title.
The duo will again be joined by the German team, and 2018 runners-up, current world number three Alexander Zverev and two-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one Angelique Kerber.
This year's tournament at Perth Arena made history with a record total tournament attendance of 106,424, and a further 5,688 fans viewing Federer's open practice session with Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Federer’s visits to attractions in Western Australia earlier this year were also a huge boost for tourism with an image of him meeting a quokka on Rottnest Island gaining global attention.
Federer's picture on Instagram attracted more than 525,000 likes and reached 5.3 million people across Facebook and Twitter.
It also appeared in 239 publications in the UK, 53 in Switzerland, 45 in Colombia, 30 in the United States, and 41 across Australia.
The Hopman Cup has been proudly supported by the Tourism WA since its inception in 1989 and has been secured to remain in Perth until 2022.
Commenting on Federer’s return to Perth, Western Australian Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated “to have Roger Federer, one of the world's best tennis players, once again compete at the Mastercard Hopman Cup is a massive coup for the State.
"This will be Federer's fifth time representing Switzerland at the mixed team tournament, and we are pleased to welcome him back.
"The Hopman Cup is a world-class event which continues to attract a high calibre of international players.
“The event also adds vibrancy to the State and attracts significant media attention nationally and internationally, providing invaluable exposure of Perth and WA to millions of people around the world.
"Supporting world-class events such as the Hopman Cup are a key part of the State Government's Two-Year Action Plan to make Western Australia the most desirable leisure and business events destination in Australia."
Selected ticket packages for the Mastercard Hopman Cup 2019 are now available to purchase via Ticketek.
