FILEX Virtual Summit to feature three industry-leading panel discussions

FILEX Virtual Summit to feature three industry-leading panel discussions
August 24, 2020

Aiming to equip fitness businesses and professionals with key learnings during the challenges of 2020, the FILEX Virtual Summit is returning on 11th and 12th September 2020, featuring three industry-leading panel discussions over the two days.

With the theme ‘Positioning for Success’, FILEX organisers explain “we received overwhelmingly positive feedback about our panel discussions that were part of our first virtual conference that we made the decision to program three in the next virtual summit to offer our attendees pertinent and robust discussions that are affecting the industry not just here in Australia but worldwide, while also allowing them to hear about lived experiences dealing with the ongoing challenges the industry is fighting in the face of the global pandemic.

“We really want attendees to feel not only that the industry is in this together, but that there are solutions and opportunities out there than can be explored to evolve their profession and their businesses.”

The first day of the virtual conference will be the Business Summit - with two panel discussions.

The first panel will be facilitated by Fitness Australia Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish, who will be leading the discussion on the need and appetite for increased oversight and regulation of the fitness industry.

The session signifies the start of a widespread industry and stakeholder consultation, which the peak industry body will be undertaking. A range of stakeholders including YMCA Victoria representative Fiona Kriaris, independent PT business owner Tony Mennillo, gym franchisor Cam Falloon of Bodyfit Training and Fit College founder and Director Mark Stitt, will join Elvish to share their views on the topic.

The Business Summit will culminate in the Mastermind Business Panel led by former host of the world’s leading fitness business owner podcast Chantal Brodrick and featuring prominent industry operators from Australia, Asia and the USA.

The panel will be uncovering their best business practices as they continue to navigate a forever-changing new world in fitness. Panellists will include Rich Hutson (Evolution Wellness, Malaysia), Lorena Kanellopoulos (Anytime Fitness, Xtend Barre Studio), Ty Menzies (Lift Brands), Andrew Pears (FLG) and Emmett Williams (Myzone).

The Trainer Summit on Day Two of the event will kick off with its own Mastermind Panel, also led by Chantal Brodrick, alongside expert trainers and coaches.

Panellists include Mike Fitch (USA) creator of Animal Flow, leading fitness instructor trainer Claire Norgate, Dan Duran (UAS) Executive Vice-President for Personal Training Academy Global, Ian O’Dwyer, Co-Founder of SOMA (Self Osteo Myofascial Applications) as well as Mel dos Remedios who has worked in senior management roles in some of the biggest fitness business franchises including Fitness First and Anytime Fitness and now Chief Executive of PTA Global.

Panellists will talk to the future direction of the industry and uncover what trainers and instructors need to do to ensure their success, now and into the future.

The Summit promises relevant content at a very competitive price with discounted rates available for current members of Fitness Australia and FILEX Premium Members.

Two-Day Pass holders or Trainer Summit Pass holders gain 5 CECs for their participation (Two-Day Pass holders receive an additional 24 CECs over the course of a year as part of the included 12 months complimentary FILEX Premium Membership).
