The new virtual offering, the FILEX Moving Forward Summit, will feature world-class international presenters and industry leaders, as well as panel discussions and even a virtual cocktail party.
Introducing the new event, a spokesperson for FILEX advised “with the whole fitness industry scrambling to deal with the huge challenges it is being confronted with, FILEX has recognised that now, more than ever, the industry requires leadership and support as well as the opportunity to reconnect, reengage education, and reenergise so that together it drives professionals, businesses and careers forward.
“The organisation had anticipated a reschedule of the May Convention for later in the year, however, as a result of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic and further bans and industry disruption, (we have) made the difficult but quick decision to go virtual.
“The Summit will provide fitness professionals support with topics and content focussed on helping drive the industry onward and upward through the crisis.”
With the Coronavirus crisis having caused uncertainty as to when the annual event, which has been running for over 30 years, would be held, the spokesperson added “the Moving Forward Summit will also offer the industry the ability to connect and network online while we aren’t able to do it face-to-face, ensuring that we stay connected and together as a community.
“Competition for now has been put to the side while we ride this wave together and get to the other side stronger and more united than ever before.”
Fitness Australia will launch a series of celebratory virtual events to announce the winners of the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards, starting with a virtual cocktail party on Friday 1st May from 6 to 7pm, as part of the Moving Forward Summit.
In the weeks following the FILEX Summit, Fitness Australia will host further virtual celebratory events to announce each of the category winners.
Industry leading partners Les Mills Asia Pacific and Myzone will also continue to support FILEX in 2020 and into 2021.
Attendees at the online conference will also be able to attain 10 CECs.
