October 7, 2018

Victorian ski resort Falls Creek has flagged highlights of the 2018 snow season on its final day.

A statement for the resort advises “as we head into the final day we can expect a perfect day of spring riding with sunshine and mild temperatures expected.

“Season 2018 has been one for the record books and we've seen phenomenal snowfall, countless sunny days and made memories that will last a lifetime.”

Falls Creek management’s favourite memories of the 2018 season:

• 404cm of cumulative snowfall throughout the 2018 season
• The mountain opened on 16th June , with 81cm falling in four days
• By 11th July every lift was turning
• The highest natural snow depth day - 217cm - occurring on 22nd August
• International was operational for 85 days
• Summit will have been operational for 113 days, 30 days longer than in 2017
• 25cm was the highest snowfall recorded in a day - over three days
• The Village was 100% ski in ski out for 103 days
• Falls Creek hosted 20 racing and freestyle events with over 1,200 entrants participating throughout the season

The statement added “some of our personal highlights of this season have been powder days on Summit, spring skiing in the sun and après on some of the amazing decks and balconies Falls has to offer.

“We would like to thank you for an amazing 2018 season and we can't wait to see you in 2019.”
