Middleton’s acceptance of the Sydney-based role as Global Vice President of Risk for Momentus also follows on from the 2022 acquisition of Reliance’s risk management software, RiskSense101 and RiskManager by Momentus Technologies.
Middleton has appointed Andrew Constantinou, former Director of Constant Security to head up Reliance Risk.
Constantinou is an industry expert with over 25 years security and risk management experience, servicing the venues, events, sport, film and television industries as the co-founder of Constant Security in 2003, and lead the company until his departure in 2020. Since then, he has held management and leadership roles in reality television and major events. He has an extensive background in safety and security risk management, proven experience in business strategy and growth; and has an extremely strong client focus.
Middleton will remain as owner and non-Executive Director of Reliance Risk, and will report to Momentus’ Chief Innovations Officer, Steve Mackenzie in St Louis, Missouri in the USA.
Middleton noted “after successfully navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2022 presented some fantastic opportunities for Reliance to broaden its portfolio of clients and grow a more permanent presence in many centres across Australia and New Zealand.
"This included in education, commercial facility management, television, local Government, in addition to our traditional markets of public venues, events and sport.
“It also presented an opportunity for our industry specific software, RiskManager and RiskSense101, to help a more diverse range of customers and markets worldwide through the Momentus acquisition.
"As our industry’s awareness and understanding of risk grows, so does demand for technological support to better measure, mitigate, monitor and report on risk. I was honoured to be presented an opportunity to help Momentus’ clients globally in this regard with this new role. As many of Reliance Risk’s clients are Momentus’ clients, it seemed an obvious link to help support clients of both organisations.”
Constantinou shared “Reliance Risk has been one of, if not the leading risk consultancy to the venues and events industries over the last 15 years in Australia and New Zealand.
"I welcome the opportunity to work with industry expert, Wayne Middleton, and bring my own expertise of major event security risk management; and to support and grow the fantastic team of industry professionals who currently make up Reliance Risk. I’m very excited to take on this role and look forward to the year ahead.”
