PCYC NSW and Wilson Security are collaborating to enhance employment outcomes and create career pathways for those who have faced barriers to traditional education or work opportunities in Sydney’s Canterbury/Bankstown area.

In a gamechanger for young job seekers, PCYC NSW and Wilson Security are offering young people who meet the eligibility criteria access to a fully funded Certificate II in Security Operations, opening the door to potential guaranteed employment upon successful completion of training.

Wilson Security General Manager, Christine Thornton noted “Wilson Security is dedicated to fostering social impact and inclusion by investing in the future workforce and wellbeing of communities across the state, creating direct pathways to employment.”

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, youth unemployment is rising above 10% in communities like Fairfield and Mount Druitt. This milestone partnership aims to fill a gap, transforming unemployment hotspots into opportunity zones through targeted, real-world job placements.

PCYC NSW Chief Executive, Ben Hobby thanked Wilson Security for their generosity and advised “It’s an investment not only in PCYC NSW, but in the community. This partnership demonstrates the power of corporate and community organisations coming together to deliver tangible, life-changing outcomes for young people who could otherwise be locked out of employment.”

Wilson Security’s dedication to creating social impact is in addition to a funding commitment for employability programs at PCYC Bankstown. ‘Fit for Work’ is one of them, designed to address a young person’s disengagement from education and employment opportunities, to re-engage back into education or career pathways.
