New TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park unveiled on Sunshine Coast

New TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park unveiled on Sunshine Coast
May 14, 2021

Australia’s largest high wire park built specifically for junior adventurers aged up to 10 years old has been unveiled today on the Sunshine Coast.

Operating on land leased from the Big Pineapple, TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park is spread over 1.2 hectares of rainforest, and has five courses featuring rope bridges, flying foxes, swings and jumps.

The TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park received $500,000 from the Queensland Government’s Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Member for Nicklin Rob Skelton notes “TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park is a great addition to the Sunshine Coast’s growing line up visitor attractions.

“The Sunshine Coast has always been a family-friendly destination with a relaxed holiday lifestyle and outdoor experiences that everybody can enjoy.

“With more than 50 adventures to keep pint-sized explorers and their families engaged and entertained, they will want to return again and again.

“TreeTop Challenge Junior Adventure Park has potential to encourage another 15,000 visitors to explore the Sunshine Coast."

Queensland Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe added “TreeTop Challenge Junior will be a big hit with young families.

“Our Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund backs tourism operators to develop new visitor experiences to boost domestic tourism and be ready for the return of international tourists.

“TreeTop Junior complements the existing adventure park to create a one-stop experience for adventurers of all ages and abilities.

“It supported five jobs during construction and is set to contribute more than $1 million a year to our economic recovery plan for the Sunshine Coast.

“TreeTop Challenge Junior is one of three new attractions to share in $1.85 million in Palaszczuk Government support to bring more families to the Sunshine Coast for a great holiday experience.”

TreeTop Challenge General Manager David Taylor said they were thrilled with their latest venture – a huge adventure park for children up to 10 years old, with challenges they probably hadn’t experienced before.

“Thanks to Queensland Government support, we’ve not only come through last year’s COVID-related problems but created a truly unique and exciting adventure experience that families will love.”

TreeTop Challenge founding member Max Taylor added "It's a life impacting experience for children. During COVID lockdown we had a FaceTime conversation with our youngest granddaughter, she'd been prior to our Tamborine Junior's Park a year before. We were so amazed that she didn't want to talk about the presents we bought her with Christmas just passing, what she wanted to talk about was the experience she had on the juniors’ course. She said to us ‘Remember when I was flying through the trees like a Butterfly’. We've seen at Tamborine that people have come back again and again because the kids want to come back and we're expecting to see the same thing here with 1,000's of children to build experiences and excitement that will last a long time."
