New report reveals state of Victoria’s aquatic industry

As part of Water Safety Month, Life Saving Victoria (LSV), in partnership with Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV), have this week released the State of the Sector 2021/22 report delivering key insights into the state's industry landscape.

The collaboration has supported the capture of data giving an intersectional understanding of the contribution, value, performance and key initiatives in the industry.

The report acknowledges that the early parts of 2021/22 remained a major challenge for the industry and that many areas are still feeling the impact of the extensive lockdowns and restrictions, as the recovery efforts continue. These impacted everyone from facility owners and operators, swim teachers, lifeguards and Victorians in the communities who rely on these facilities for educational, employment and recreational purposes.

While acknowledging the impact of COVID-19, the report highlights the importance and value of healthy public pool sector and broader aquatic industry.

Building on the legacy of independent state of industry reports, the publication provides a broad snapshot of the industry, enabling better tracking and comparison of key metrics an act as a true source of information, enabling improved analysis and evaluation and more informed decision making.

The report includes review and analysis of:
