read moreSet to be held online next week, the 2021 Healthy Ageing Summit will see a line-up of presenters from around the globe share their knowledge and experience of how fitness and health providers can help the ageing population enhance the quality and length of their lives.
The only Australia event that focuses entirely on helping health and fitness professionals and coaches to specifically address the explosive growth of the active ageing demographic, topics at the Summit include programming, personalised health and marketing, chronic disease and behavioural change coaching
With Summit organisers Ken and Karen Baldwin excited to share their wealth of knowledge with attendees, Ken Baldwin explains “this is the fastest growing population on the planet and they are looking for the fitness industry to help them achieve their goals.
“COVID has made it difficult for our industry to grow with minimised contact with people and people spending less time in fitness centres and trainers losing a number of their clients.
“However, the active ageing sector is a market ready and waiting to be serviced by the industry as the ‘baby boomers’ live longer and look for solutions to remain healthy, active and connected.
Baldwin says that many trainers seem to forget about this market because of a perception and picture of what "an old person is", advising “they want to be trained and need to keep moving, remain active, have less injuries and they have life goals to live.”
Being held on 28th and 29th May 2021, the line-up of presenters includes world leaders in their fields.
Keynote speaker Dr Michael Mantell has written several books and has a PHD in Clinical Psychology, appears regularly on American daytime television and has been a guest on Oprah and Larry King.
Dr Mantell will be talking on the longevity Mindset.
Dr Mantell will also feature on a special round table event with Mel Tempest, International Fitness Business Leader of 2020 and Bobby Cappuccio, a behavioural mindset coach, discussing Ageism and inclusivity.
Hot fitness topics addressed from another perspective, will see nutritionist Dr Cam McDonald talking about Epigentics and the future of personalised health.
Andrea Beres Leonard from the Cancer Education Training Institute is speaking on the ‘Top 10 Thing’s trainers need to know when working with cancer patients while neuroscientist Ryan Glatt will address Cognitive Decline and how we can avoid the onset of Alzheimers and Dementia.
Award winning podcaster and Industry Legend Craig Harper will address the Summit on Self Management and what is needed for a balanced life while two sessions from San Diego-based Anthony Carey, a pain movement specialist, will consider what is being done for clients - speaking about Beyond the Foam Roller.
The Summit will also feature group and interactive sessions on Balance, the Importance of Breath, Having Fun in our Sessions, and the truth and Myths about Vibration Training.
Mindful that many in the fitness industry struggle with social media and promotions, Lynsey Fraser from FloSocial, will consider Facebook and how to master media communications.
Baldwin added “the Healthy Ageing Summit will give attendees all the tools to accelerate their business in this rapidly growing niche market.”
Principal Summit sponsors include Perform Better Australia, Power Plate, Evolt 360 and the Personal Training Academy.
