Australian Event Awards 2021 move online

Australian Event Awards 2021 move online
September 15, 2021

Faced with ongoing COVID uncertainty, the Australian Event Awards are moving to an online Awards celebration in 2021.

After extensive consultation with the Industry, the Event Awards 2021 Ceremony will join the long list of 2021 events to move online due to effects of COVID-19.

In a perhaps unusual move, the ceremony will be delivered as a series of bite sized broadcasts delivered each evening over 12 days from 20th – 31st October capping off a month-long Industry celebration during which the work of every entrant will be highlighted.

Australian Event Awards Managing Director, Ian Steigrad notes “the decision to move the Event Awards Ceremony online was not an easy one. However, based on feedback from the industry and ongoing travel restrictions and uncertainty, we have decided to celebrate the achievements and resilience of the Industry in a timely way, even if regrettably, that has to be done online.”

The entire month of October will now be an online celebration of the achievements and resilience of the industry, with Event Awards entrant highlights taking place from 1st-19th October, followed directly by the announcement of the finalists and winners of the 2021 Australian Event Awards between 20th–31st October.

Each day during 1st–19th October, the Awards will showcase short highlights of every entrant and their accomplishments since 1st July 2020 on its social media channels. These highlights will include an image or video of the accomplishment, a short overview and recognition of a few of the individuals that were integral to the operation. Read more about the entrant highlight period here.

The Event Awards Finalist and Winner announcements 20th-31st October will be uploaded to the Awards’ YouTube channel at a designated time each evening - make sure to subscribe.

The schedule of each category announcement can be viewed on the Awards website. The first night will kick off with three category announcements: Best Live or Hybrid Corporate Event at 6pm (AEDT), Best Online Event Delivery Platform at 7pm (AEDT) & Best Virtual Small Event at 8pm (AEDT). The remainder of October will see two categories announced per night until the 31st of October.
