Organisers announce details for 2020 Australian Event Awards

Organisers announce details for 2020 Australian Event Awards
April 23, 2020

After extensive consultation from the wider events community, the organisers of the Australian Event Awards and Symposium have advised that the events will go ahead as planned later this year after extensive consultation from the wider events community.

In a just released statement, the organisers advise "we have received a considerable amount of feedback that supports the recognition of our achievements as an industry over the past year and believes it will keep a positive momentum moving through the community during this difficult period.

“It is in this spirit that we will be delivering the Australian Event Awards 2020.”

The Australian Event Awards 2020 will be staged at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on 21st October with the Australian Event Symposium running at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide from 19th to 21st October.

Looking forward, the organisers stated "we really hope we will be able to do this, and we are excited to bring the Awards to Adelaide, if we can.

“However, given the current climate, we cannot be certain that an awards night as usual will be possible. In the case that it isn’t, we will recognise the achievements of our industry and community by offering an online celebration of our winners. No matter the circumstances, we are absolutely certain that Winners will be announced and trophies will be given away.”

Entries will open on 29th April to all events and achievements that have taken place between 1st July 2019 to 30th June 2020. This includes those events and achievements that have had to adapt due to the Coronavirus restrictions. For the first time, events delivered online will be eligible to enter the Event Awards.

The organisers went on to say "we have made multiple key changes to the Awards 2020 following feedback from the industry and to support our industry where we can.

“We have created a guided entry form to help you best address the things that the judges want to see in your entry, simplified the entry process and reduced entry costs for businesses across the industry.

“We have also improved the judging process by appointing leading experts in public events, corporate events, event services and event management to lead the judges through the judging process and review the finalists.”
