Anytime Fitness and Tough Mudder reveal new partnership

Australia’s largest gym chain, Anytime Fitness and global endurance event series, Tough Mudder have announced a new partnership.

With the 2019 series dubbed the ‘biggest, baddest’ Tough Mudder to date, Anytime Fitness has signed on as a headline sponsor for all three events, which kicked off in South East Queensland in May.

The Anytime Fitness partnership sees the fitness group host pre and post-event activations, offering incentives to participants on-site, with trainers kicking off each event by leading all group warm-ups to get participants ready to tackle the obstacle course both mentally and physically.

Participants can enjoy the Anytime Fitness ‘Recovery Zone’ offering a place to stretch and warm the muscles pre and post-race. There’ll also be an exclusive Anytime Fitness challenge at the Recovery Zone for those who think that they’re tough enough to take on the ‘Pop and Lock’.

The partnership also sees Anytime Fitness put its name to an official obstacle on the course called The Gauntlet which is not only the longest obstacle of the 2019 Tough Mudder season but is also the longest obstacle ever built.

Consisting of four sections, Tough Mudder advise “only the strongest survive on The Gauntlet.”

Anytime Fitness is also providing four and 12-week training programs and weekly video ‘how-to’ advice ahead of each Tough Mudder event to ensure participants are prepared for their big day.

Speaking about the partnership, Anytime Fitness General Manager, Gordon Martin, advised “our goal at Anytime Fitness as a health and fitness club is to offer support to our community. We can’t wait to combine everyone – franchisees, club managers, personal trainers and our members for the 2019 Tough Mudder Australian events.

“It’s going to get dirty, and it’ll probably get rough. But as a community, we’re going to share an unforgettable experience and finish the race together.”

Tough Mudder spokesperson, Marcus Gale added “Tough Mudder Australia is excited to partner with Anytime Fitness in 2019, a union that sees two iconic brands join forces to celebrate our Mudders’ passion for health and fitness.”

With the first Australian Tough Mudder event of 2019 having been held in South East Queensland on 18th and 19th May, upcoming editions will be held in Melbourne on 19th and 20th October, and Sydney on 16th and 17th November.
