read moreClub Lime, part of the VIVA Leisure group, and one of the largest privately-owned health and fitness providers in Australia, has continued its ongoing expansion across NSW with the acquisition of Xceler8 24hr Fitness in Wagga Wagga.
The Riverina club will be the 24th VIVA Leisure facility and its third site in regional NSW with its other locations residing in the ACT.
The integration is scheduled to commence on 28th September when VIVA intends to roll out an immediate rebrand of the Xceler8 site, with all existing members joining the already robust portfolio of Club Lime gyms.
Commenting on the group’s latest acquisition, Viva Leisure Chief Executive Harry Konstantinou stated “the Xceler8 business is one of the most respected and longest running health clubs and gymnasiums in the Riverina region.
“The owners have done an incredible job establishing such a premium fitness destination and successfully growing the business, whilst helping many thousands of members improve their health and wellbeing for over two decades. We are very excited by what the future will bring by merging Xceler8 into the Club Lime group."
The existing Xceler8 facility is a full-service health club boasting a huge 3,700 metre² of the latest in market leading strength equipment, dedicated training zones and the Riverina’s largest range of cardio gear along with an extensive group fitness program.
The club also houses the first 24/7 Ladies Only gym in the Riverina region, as well as a café and creche facilities.
Explaining the sale, Xceler8 owner, Kerry Podmore advised “after observing the evolution of the health club and gymnasium markets, we decided that now was the right time to sell the business to Club Lime who are well positioned to take the operation to the next level.
“My wife Cynthia, sister Michelle and myself, Xceler8’s Founders, as well as the amazing team who has helped us to make the club what it is today, will be staying on to manage the business on behalf of Club Lime and we are excited by both the potential and new opportunities such an established Group will bring to the Riverina.”
