Fast growing 24/7 gym group Plus Fitness has been continuing with the opening of new clubs both in Australia and internationally through 2019.

With over 300 clubs now operating across the world, Plus Fitness is currently opening a new gym somewhere in the world every 21 days.

With significant recent growth having come in India, Plus Fitness 24/7 Indian Master Franchisee Siraj Lalani links the growth of the group to a wider goal of working towards a healthier India.

Primarily operating across India’s western states, Lalani is looking to expansion across the subcontinent, explaining “the fitness industry is growing as consumers become more aware about their health and the benefits of exercising.

“At the end of FY2018, revenues in the Indian fitness market amounted to US$908 million (and) further growth in the segment, expected at a CAGR of 9.3% between 2018 and 2022, is expected to take the total market value to a whopping US$1,296 million in 2022.”

Over the next five years, Lalani plans to create a network of over 50 Plus Fitness 24/7 clubs in India.

In Australia, the recent opening of Plus Fitness 24/7 Fitzroy marked the group’s 12th club in Victoria and its 190th globally.

Franchisees Barry and Patrick Armstrong have located their Plus Fitness 24/7 in a restored, heritage listed building in the heart of the bustling inner Melbourne suburb.

Commenting on the opening of their first Plus Fitness facility, Patrick Armstrong stated “as a family we are really excited to be opening Plus Fitness Fitzroy.

“My Mum, Dad and Brother have all been on site helping to get the club ready for the big reveal. It has been a long and eventful process with council and construction but we are finally there. The biggest highlight has been working with the team on site and the buy back from locals has been great. I also would like to say a big thank you to the team at Plus Fitness Head Office.

“Working with them all has been an authentic and a non-corporate experience which has really assisted us in getting us to where we are today with the club”.
