Northern Territory Attractions and Operators recognised at Australian Tourism Awards
March 2, 2019

Northern Territory Katherine tourism operators and attractions have been recognised with five awards for their outstanding customer service, innovation and ongoing business excellence.

This year’s Territory winners were:

•  Cicada Lodge at Nitmiluk Gorge won two Gold awards: Luxury Accommodation; and Tourism restaurants and Catering Services;
•  Cicada Lodge claimed Silver in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tourism category;
•  Katherine Outback Experience won Bronze in Tourist Attractions; and
•  Tourism Central Australia won Bronze for Visitor Information Services.

Welcoming the Awards, Northern Territory Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lauren Moss stated “the NT tourism industry is worth $2.1 billion to the economy.

“Turbocharging Tourism is providing integral support to tourism operators and industry as we continue to find fresh and innovative ways to showcase and attract visitors to the Territory.

“Our tourism operators are incredibly passionate about what they do and that is reflected in the exciting and unique attractions, tours and experiences available to visitors to the NT.

“It’s wonderful to see so many of our 2018 Brolga Awards winners go on to achieve recognition as both finalists and winners at a national level."
