Insurer Marsh backs AFL national talent pathways

Insurer Marsh backs AFL national talent pathways
April 2, 2024

The AFL has announced an expansion of its 20-year partnership with Marsh that will see the leading global insurance broker and risk advisor throw its support behind the sport’s national talent pathways system.

The partnership will see Marsh becomes the new naming-rights partner of the following programs for a three-year term:

  • Marsh AFL National Academy
  • Marsh AFL National Championships – U18
  • Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16
  • Marsh AFL National Futures

Marsh has been a sponsor of the AFL since 2004 and is the Official Business Risk Insurance Broker and Official Risk Partner of the AFL and AFLW.

As part of its extended and expanded sponsorship, the Marsh brand will be integrated into national talent pathways programs. This means it will appear on team and program apparel, including training and match day, as well as around-the-ground signage.

Advising that Marsh committing to support the AFL’s national talent pathways for boys and girls will play an important role in helping to develop the next generation of stars at the elite level, AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers stated “the AFL and Marsh have enjoyed a long association spanning two decades already and we’re thrilled to extend and expand our partnership with such a well-regarded brand nationally and globally.

“The AFL is committed to providing the most talented young footballers with a pathways system that provides them with an opportunity to be the best they can be. To have Marsh supporting the most talented boys and girls in Australia, many of whom will go onto be the next generation of AFL and AFLW stars, ensures the ongoing success of the national talent pathways system.

“I thank Marsh for their ongoing and long-standing commitment to supporting Australian rules football.”

Kirsten Mills, Marsh’s Head of Affinity - Pacific, added “we are thrilled to continue and expand our ongoing relationship with the AFL and AFLW. ‘

“This is a particularly proud connection for Marsh because it aligns with our own strong belief in fostering opportunity and talent pathways among our people. And that’s exactly what we see the AFL doing through its national talent pathways.

“We admire the AFL’s and AFLW’s commitment to identifying, developing and investing in talented young players, and building their confidence to thrive. Marsh stands strong alongside the AFL’s vision to continue to provide equitable access to high performance, education and development opportunities, both on and off the field to boys and girls across the country.”
