The acknowledgement has been awarded to Etihad Stadium due to its exceptional service that “goes beyond the legal expectations” to foster an inclusive environment that welcomes and supports people with low vision.
This accolade is a reflection of Etihad Stadium’s dedication to a premium fan experience through world-class facilities and service.
Advising that he was honoured to receive the award on behalf of the Stadium, Etihad Stadium Chief Executive Michael Green stated “this award is a testament to all the hard-working staff at the stadium and the ongoing commitment to offering world-class service to every fan that walks through the turnstiles.
“We are thrilled that Etihad Stadium has been recognised for this esteemed award, it is a mark of excellence in the hospitality industry and a sign of distinction for our loyal fans.
“We work hard to ensure all fans feel safe and welcome at the stadium and take pride in the quality of our facilities and services that we are constantly refining.”
Guide Dogs Australia Chief Executive Karen Hayes said the nomination was made by a client of the Guide Dogs Victoria who was overwhelmed by their positive experience at the venue.
Hayes commented “I am incredibly excited to see Etihad Stadium receive this award. Guide Dogs Victoria is committed to inclusion for people with low vision or blindness and for the whole community.
“We commend Etihad for working hard to creating a world class venue that is a welcoming environment for all.”
The award was presented as part of the annual International Guide Dog Day Awards on Friday 27th April at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance.
