The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has announced the appointment of Associate Professor Peter Reaburn PhD BHMS(Ed)(Hons) as its Honorary Chair of Adult Learning and Health.

With ASSA, Associate Professor Reaburn will apply his world-renowned expertise to assisting the Association provide more accessible and modern methods of education for the Member Swim Schools.

Announcing the appointment, ASSA Chief Executive Ross Gage stated “given the spread of the Swim Schools around the country, it is essential that we be able to readily provide update news and information, and in formats that managers and owners can relate to.”

Associate Professor Reaburn (pictured) who is currently with the School of Medicine and Applied Sciences, CQ University (a world leader in distance education), is equally recognised for his expertise in adult exercise and health - particularly from middle age.

Commenting on this, Gage added “given many swim schools are interested in teaching adults and/or having successful adult fitness groups, being able to tap in such knowledge and experience is a wonderful asset for the Association.”
