read moreMore than 400 delegates from 20 countries connected with the Australian Swim Schools Association’s 2021 Conference last week as what had been planned as in-person conference pivoted to an exclusive online offering, catering to those affected by COVID-19 lockdowns.
Held from 24th to 26th August, the annual conference’s topics covered ‘From Surviving to Thriving’, ‘Business Sustainability & Essentials’ and ‘Strategy, 2022 and beyond’ over its three-day schedule with presenters that offered practical advice to implement in swim schools around the world.
ASSA General Manager, Emily McNeill says the conference online offered a fabulous opportunity to garner global industry insights from business leaders who may not have been able to attend the conference had it moved ahead in it’s original in-person format.
McNeill advised “there were delegates who joined us far and wide from over 20 different countries such as India, Mexico, South Africa, the USA, Canada (and) UK (and) we look forward to continuing to incorporate an online offering for future conferences to ensure the wider swim school world remains connected.”
Lulu Cisneros, a delegate from Mexico, stated “the conference was an insightful three days to discuss ways to help continue moving business forward.
“I love being part of the ASSA global swim school family.”
Mel Rickwood from Aquatics Downunder in NSW concurred and said her team thoroughly enjoyed the ASSA 2021 virtual conference, noting “we were so inspired by the diverse range of speakers and topics that we are already implementing new ideas.”
McNeill went on to say that “although this was not the delivery we had planned, it was great to see so many people from across the globe online, continuing to invest in their teams and businesses during this time.”
ASSA’s 2022 National Conference will take place from Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd June next year at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, in conjunction with the SPLASH! Pool and Spa Expo.
