Taronga Conservation Society develops module for bushfire affected wildlife

Taronga Conservation Society develops module for bushfire affected wildlife
September 27, 2021

In the wake of the 2019/20 Black Summer Bushfires, the Sydney-based Taronga Conservation Society has developed an emergency module to assist veterinarians and veterinarian nurses in the treatment of burnt and dehydrated wildlife.

The E-learning module was developed with bushfire response funding from the Australian Government to provide expert knowledge on rescuing, treating and rehabilitating at-risk wildlife.

The team at Taronga would like to share the learning module with fellow members of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and are open to feedback on whether it would be helpful to create a more generic module.
