Sunshine Coast Stadium will be the first venue in the world to host the biggest global colour festival series on earth, The Color Movement, after securing the event for 21st October.

Continuing The Color Run’s mission to deliver new ways to be healthy and active, The Color Movement aims to create a world-wide movement that looks outside the traditional means of fitness and shows there are plenty of ways to keep fit while having fun.

The new, all-ages, colour festival series is looking to engage all Australians, no matter what body shape or fitness level, in new ways to be active.

Participants will be able to explore five new colourful worlds - from a magical foam ocean, to a world of glittering confetti rain, to a bubble-filled chill out zone.

Sunshine Coast Tourism, Sport and Major Events Portfolio Councillor Jason O’Pray said the announcement that Sunshine Coast Stadium would be the first venue to host this global event was phenomenal, stating “we loved hosting The Color Run on the Coast and to add The Color Movement to our major events calendar is a huge achievement for this region.

“The Color Run was definitely one of my family’s favourite events on the Coast and we will definitely be lining up to experience one of the coolest events on the planet.

“October 21 on the Sunshine Coast will be a day of confetti tornados, clouds of dreamy foam, epic colour throws and the best tunes to dance to.

“The aim of these events are in line with council’s commitment to deliver Australia’s leading healthy, smart and creative region.”

Tim Wiche, Marketing Manager for event manager Aratis Events, suggested that those who know of The Color Run, dubbed ‘The Happiest 5K on the Planet’, would be aware of the world famous Finish Festival.

He explained “(its) the one with the massive group colour-throws, give-aways and the awesome tunes.

“Well, imagine that, but, like, even more unbelievable. Imagine a giant dance floor, a party fuelled by friendship, bright colours and a little bit of unicorn magic.”
