read moreSet to launch from Monday 29th January, the new Healthy Sunshine Coast program is aiming to deliver affordable ways for residents to get healthier and happier.
Prioritising healthy living, positive mental health and making connections, Sunshine Coast Council’s Healthy Sunshine Coast program is described as “an affordable and holistic community health and wellbeing initiative that supports and encourages our community to be healthy, have fun and meet new friends”.
The aim of the program is to encourage:
Sunshine Coast Council’s Economic and Community Development Group Executive Greg Laverty said this year’s program had something for everyone, advising “activities range from the new Pilates classes at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens, laughter yoga in Maleny and Caloundra and over 50s fitness at Buderim.”
Once signed up, local residents will be able to attend a range of low-cost health and wellbeing activities around the region, which are $10 (or just $5 with a Health Care/Pensioner card).
Registered participants will receive regular email updates on classes, health and wellbeing snippets and healthy recipes.
The Council plans to add additional activities will be added over time.
