Suncorp Super Netball season the most attended in Australian women’s sport

The 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season has smashed crowd records becoming the most attended season in the history of Australian women’s sport with a final total attendance of 366,222.
It marked the biggest season in the league’s history, with 34,381 fans flocking to the Finals Series after a home and away attendance of 331,841.
Suncorp Super Netball also attracted the highest average crowd in Australian women’s sport, with an average of 6,097 fans attending each match - up from 5,069 in 2023.
Saturday evening saw the Adelaide Thunderbirds secure back-to-back premierships in front of a full house of 9,694 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, defeating the Melbourne Vixens.
The crowd number marked the third consecutive year the Grand Final has sold out.
Commenting on the support for the competition, Netball Australia Chief Executive, Stacey West advised “fans have supported their teams in record numbers this year, making Suncorp Super Netball the most attended season of Australian’s women sport.
“We say a massive thank you to our fans for your passion and support. Our Suncorp Super Netball athletes and clubs have staged an incredible season, proving the Suncorp Super Netball League is the best netball competition in the world.”
With a record 709 ‘Suncorp Super Shots' scored in 2024, Suncorp will be donating more than $70,000 to the Confident Girls Foundation - supporting programs to enable disadvantaged girls to thrive through netball.
The bank donates $100 for every successful ‘Super Shot’ scored throughout the Suncorp Super Netball season to the Foundation.
