Rebuilt as part of the wider development of the new Allianz Stadium, the Sporting Club of Sydney has opened its new aquatic, fitness and wellbeing centre.
With the new Stadium hosting its first sporting fixtures over the weekend, the new Sporting Club has been open to members since last Monday.
Located at Allianz Stadium's Gate 8, on the venue's south western corner, the new premium Club replaces the former UTS Stadium Club.
Already described as "the most exclusive in Sydney" with memberships having joining fees of as much as $22,000, the new facility is spread across three levels - featuring two squash courts, weights and cardio training floors, group training rooms for yoga and cycle classes, fitness assessment rooms, a virtual golf studio, an indoor heated 25 metre pool and an outdoor 50 metre heated pool with bookable cabanas on its deck. The Club also provides childminding services and a café with indoor and outdoor dining.
For relaxation, there is hot spa, cold plunge pool, infrared and traditional saunas and a steam room along with a soon-to-open day spa with four treatment rooms.
Fox Sports sports presenter and journalist Tara Rushton reported on an early visit to the facility, advising "you can come, catch up with friends, work out, get a massage, play golf and pop your kids in (a creche) for a couple of hours of bliss.
"There's a mind body studio over my should there, yoga and Pilates and a gorgeous day spa, some facials, massages - all the pampering.
"It is the crème de la crème when it comes to working out."
This echoes the status of the former UTS Stadium Club which, attracting in excess of 30,000 visits per month, was popular with Sydney sporting identities.
Not open to casual members, Venues NSW offers four categories of memberships for the Sporting Club of Sydney.
Platinum and Gold Members of the Allianz Stadium and Sydney Cricket Ground can elevate their current membership entitlements to access the Club.
Joining fees for Platinum and Gold Memberships start at $22,000.
Premier Memberships offer unparalleled access to both sporting venues along with the premium gym and wellness facilities.
With joining fees also costing from $22,000, memberships in this category are currently full.
Lifestyle Members have Club access along with also access to selected Swans, Roosters, Waratahs and Sydney FC regular season matches and domestic cricket fixtures.
The joining fee for Lifestyle Members starts at $5,000, with ongoing membership fees.
Sport Members are entitled to one member’s card and one guest card with access to additional tickets for friends and family, one off guest passes to experience the Sporting Club of Sydney.
The joining fee for Sport Members starts at $15,000.
During the redevelopment of the precinct, Venues NSW operated the Stadium Club, the former Centennial Health Club, in the Moore Park Entertainment Quarter.
Venues NSW is now believed to be set to vacate that site, offering the club and its equipment to a new operator.
The new Sporting Club of Sydney was funded by Venues NSW, separately from the NSW Government's contribution to building the Stadium.
