Rugby Australia launches new Digital Coaching Hub

Rugby Australia launches new Digital Coaching Hub
April 12, 2021

Rugby Australia has announced a new Digital Coaching Hub, powered by developers Slocoach, that it hopes will be a “game changer” for community rugby.

Hosting educational video bundles and a series of eight-week session plans for all coaches of any age group, the platform allows coaches and players to learn in their own time to refine their rugby knowledge with the convenience of online training.

Coaches who register will receive new session plans each week designed to develop the age-appropriate skills, technical and tactical knowledge of their players.

Introducing the platform, Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Andy Marinos stated “this is a fantastic opportunity for all our community coaches, whether highly experienced or new to the game, to get the latest coaching resources that are designed to help them as coaches and further develop their players.

“This new initiative is yet another clear sign of Rugby Australia’s commitment to the community game. We appreciate that a number of our coaches are volunteers, so it is important to deliver this content in a format that is both readily available and adaptable to fit in with current work schedules. “We believe this will provide a valuable step in the progression of Rugby coaches through our system.

“The platform allows coaches to receive expert information, all aligned within a broader national curriculum, to ensure the highest quality of professional development.

“The Digital Coaching Hub ensures far greater connection within our Rugby family (and) will ultimately allow more junior rugby players to access training.”

Rugby Australia General Manager of Community Rugby, James Selby added “this is a great opportunity for us to be leaders in the digital space and improve connection with our coaches and players right across the country.

“Our Digital Coaching Hub supports coaches to develop and deliver sessions that will develop their players’ skill and knowledge of the game in a graduated way. Community Coaches are volunteers and any support we can provide them in their role is a priority for us”

“Now is an incredibly exciting time for our Rugby family and with the added support of this new Hub, the player experience, opportunities and pathways continue to grow.”

Rugby Australia’s Digital Coaching Hub is available via the Rugby Xplorer Portal.
