read moreCelebrating the best and brightest of New Zealand's recreation industry and looking to recognise excellence, innovation and effectiveness of outstanding activity, Recreation Aotearoa has announced the nominees for its 2023 Recreation Awards.
The association notes “we had many great nominations come through this year and the judges have been busy working through them to uncover the winners.”
Winners will be announced at the upcoming Recreation Conference/Nga Rau Harakeke being held at in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington from 1st to 3rd November.

Winners of the 2023 Fellowship Award, Paul Stuart Memorial Award, Ian Galloway Memorial Cup, Mark Mitchell Trophy, and Emerging Recreation Leader of the Year will also be announced at the Recreation Awards dinner ceremony during the 2023 Recreation Conference/Nga Rau Harakeke.

Recreation Aotearoa and Parks and Leisure Australia have recently announced a renewal of their longstanding partnership through the signing of a new two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The organisations advise that the "MOU signals the next phase in a relationship that has flourished over the years and is underpinned by a shared commitment to enhancing the mana (respect, strength, pride) of each organisation".
