read moreLeading event technology solutions company PMY Group has announced that it has been named Official Technology Partner for the E-Bike Grand Prix (EBK GP) series set to kick-off in late 2022.
The EBK GP series is a new technologically advanced international cycling sport that brings the thrill and excitement of elite sport right into the heart of cities around the world.
Underpinned by a sustainable and transformative mobility agenda, EBK GP is a 10-race men’s and women’s series featuring pro-cycling teams racing around purpose-built city-centre tracks on electric road bikes at speeds of over 100 kilometres per hour.
The series will boast a global repertoire of host cities across multiple continents, commencing with a showcase event held in Dubai in 2022, with PMY placed front and centre to drive the technology innovation, management and integration across the entire tour.
As Official Technology Partner for EBK GP, PMY is responsible for planning, design, delivery, management, integration and operations of the series’ technology solution and technology service providers, leveraging its global major event experience spanning Olympics, World Championships, World Cups and Major Opens.
Announcing the partnership, PMY’s Executive General Manager of Sport & Major Events, J ohn de Carvalho, stated “we are excited to work with EBK GP to create a world-class, technology-led sport experience which has the power to influence future behaviour change.
“The EBK GP series will break boundaries and see some of the most innovative technologies come to life, combined with human strategy and endeavour.”
Looking forward to working with PMY, Carl Thompson, Sporting & Technical Director at EBK GP, added “we look forward to working closely with PMY across our EBK GP series to create an innovative dynamic global sports event with technology at its core.
“The series will leverage performance data and analytics like never before giving teams, broadcasters and fans an unprecedented level of information, access and engagement. We are thrilled to lead the charge in this exciting development and to draw on PMY’s global event technology experience.”
Underpinning the sporting element of the race is a commitment from the host cities to engage in a results-driven sustainable and transformative mobility strategy which will be implemented over three years. This strategy will be monitored and mandated by measurable and tangible commitments with the ultimate aim to deliver cleaner, greener and healthier cities.
