read moreLeading Oceanic esports provider LetsPlay.Live (LPL) are expanding Clash Royale mobile esports in a first for the business, continuing their ongoing partnership with game developer Supercell.
Following the impressive success of LPL Clash Royale Asia-Pacific Tour earlier this year, in which mobile esports fans across Oceania, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea competed for a share of over $25,000, the esports specialists are going global with LPL Clash Royale World Tour 2023.
Players can compete to represent their territory of residence: The Americas (NA and LATAM), EMEA (Europe and MENA), APAC North (Japan and South Korea) and APAC South (OCE and SEA) through respective 1v1 open qualifiers. The Top 16 competitors (two per territory) will progress to the 1v1 Pro Division to compete for a share of $22,500 USD in prize money.
LPL Clash Royale World Tour 2023 Pro Division will be broadcast in multiple languages between 25 - 28 May to accommodate the tournament’s worldwide audience and player base.
All players that do not qualify for the Pro Division will be placed into the Open Division: a 1v1 Single Elimination Bracket with a $2,500 USD prize pool.
The tournament is free-to-join, which LPL hopes will attract players from across the globe with a range of competitive experiences to give Clash Royale esports a shot.
Managing Director of LPL, Duane Mutu enthused “we are thrilled to be hitting the global market with our esports tournaments after a fantastic start to our ongoing relationship with Supercell.
“The LPL team is so excited to welcome even more regions to our domain and show the world what we do best with top-tier tournaments and broadcasting.
“LPL Clash Royale World Tour 2023 is timed excellently with the launch of our brand new web platform, which is built to accommodate esports players and viewers from around the globe.”
Drew Haycock, Clash Royale Community Manager added “LPL continues to deliver a great platform for Clash Royale players to compete at the top level. I'm excited to see some incredible plays on the World Tour 2023!”
Registrations for LPL Clash Royale World Tour 2023 closes Tuesday 2nd May at 12AM UTC. For more information on the tournament, rulesets and sign-ups, head to letsplay.live/clash-world-tour/
