Ignite Fitness Business returns to Melbourne in 2020

Ignite Fitness Business returns to Melbourne in 2020
December 16, 2019

Following the success of its inaugural events this year, Ignite Fitness Business’ first event of 2020 will bring together gym owners, franchisees, managers, start-ups, personal trainers and others on Friday 21st February in Melbourne.

Ignite Fitness Business Melbourne 2020 will include a new format of key presentations on fitness business law, technology, retention, social media and boutiques.

Introducing the event, Ignite Fitness Business founder, Mel Tempest stated “2019 has been an extremely busy year for us with four events and we see 2020 replicating that success.”

Commenting on the new format, Tempest says that the ‘boutique-style’ seminar is designed to meet industry demands and are more personalised, noting “they allow attendees the opportunity not only to network but seek out opportunities for their business.”

Program highlights include:

Retention - With member retention always a big issue in the industry, Keepme Software is the Premium Sponsor of the event with Keepme founder and Chief Executive Ian Mullane to speak

Legal issues - Velocity Legal will be hosting a panel on fitness business law, discussing current problems gym owners face in business such as contracting, employment, intellectual property, franchising, selling and buying.

This session will invite questions from the audience.

Social Media - Liam Robertson from CFM will be sharing tools that club owners can implement into their business immediately.

Using Video - Owen Bowling from FourD Media will be hosting an interactive roundtable on video stories with attendees to be presented with tools that will deliver an immediate return.

Fitness Technology – sessions will see technologies including Evolt360 body scanning and Myzone explain the constant evolution of the workout and lifestyle experience of the member.

Evolt360 launched a new app in 2019 which has made a significant difference to results now achieved by members in clubs, this in return means the club experience has increased in value for the member with a decline in retention for the club owner.

Myzone's simple wearable heart rate monitor is as popular as ever one of the Myzone highlights is the challenges clubs are running.

Boutique Business Models - Another feature of the event will be the panel discussion on building boutique business models within a club and as a stand-alone model.

Fitness entrepreneur and gym owner Tempest, states “with competition now increasing for gym owners in the boutique sector now is the time for club owners to make room in their clubs for this model."

This panel will be hosted by Cameron Prosser from BF Brokers.

Tempest concludes that “Ignite events were popular when launched in Singapore and Miami Beach this year, while our women's event in Melbourne gained great traction and will be launched again in 2020.”

Ignite Fitness Business Melbourne is being held at Citadines on Bourke Melbourne.
