Inspiration, Motivation and Networking are the outcomes which the National Conference for Events Professionals - Eventing the Future 2015 is aiming to deliver to delegates at their upcoming Wellington event.

To be held on 22nd and 23rd July at Mac’s Function Centre in Wellington and with conference program just released, Eventing the Future 2015 will focus on the commercialisation of events to attract alternative income sources and meeting business needs and audience engagement.

Eventing the Future will also continue in providing the international and national insights that influence investment and provide commercial and community opportunities.

Providing some of this insight will be Professor Gang-hoan Jeong, a world leading event and tourism researcher and consultant.

Professor Jeong has researched events in New Zealand and globally and is one of the few people who can provide insights into global trends, challenges and opportunities. In two sessions at the Conference, Professor Jeong will provide two sessions at the conference to expand horizons and ideas with case studies and experiences globally.

And Professor Jeong likes playing in the mud! , having been involved in the development of the famous Boryeong Mud Festival, he is currently providing expert advice to Rotorua in the development of their new mud festival.

A second keynote speaker on the program, Peter Biggs has recently returned to New Zealand, with a string of awards after his name, to take up the role of inaugural Chair of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA).

In his address, Biggs will provide his extensive experience to challenge, inform, debate how to commercialise events and engage with audiences – two key themes throughout the conference.

The conference will also feature a panel discussing the rise in Asian festivals in New Zealand’s increasingly multicultural landscape.

The panel will include  presenters from Niche Media (multi-cultural media advertising) and Bananaworks communications (Cross-cultural organization) ably facilitated by Yee Yang Lee from the arts/creative governance company Whysquare .
