Australian Performing Arts Exchange to be hosted at NIDA in September

Australian Performing Arts Exchange to be hosted at NIDA in September
July 11, 2022

Postponed in 2020 and 2021, the Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APAX) will be hosted at Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) from Monday 5th to Friday 9th September with an online advance pitching program from 16th August.

Thrilled to be able to present the event in-person for the first time in three years, PAC Australia Executive Director, Katherine Connor commented “we are delighted to host APAX in person at NIDA this September and also provide options to attend online via livestream.

“This model provides all delegates access to the advanced online pitching program in August. Delegates can then choose to attend in-person or access a livestream registration. There are also bundle options so organisations can attend in person and extend the live stream experience with their team back home. We are however hoping to attract as many people as possible to join us in person in Sydney for some much-needed time together to reconnect and reenergise our sector’.

The largest and most significant annual gathering of presenters, producers and artists coming together to connect, network, learn and discover leading works available for touring and collaboration, the APAX program will feature engaging sessions designed to reconnect and energise the performing arts sector in Australia including 50 pitches, four keynotes, 13 professional development sessions and several networking events.

Alongside the pitching, showcasing and networking opportunities, the gathering supports the professional development of delegates, highlights sector innovation and best practice, and supports industry renewal through knowledge exchange.

The APAX 2022 first program announcement features keynotes by leading thinkers such as social entrepreneur, Jeremy Meltzer on partnerships, future possibilities, and aligning purpose with stakeholder expectations. Further program highlights include re-thinking engagement; the art of gathering; and creating a communication strategy to reach new audiences. There is also plenty of time built into the program to allow delegates to meet, reconnect and digest what they’ve been through in the past two years together.

Registrations for APAX are now open, with an early bird offer available until 29th July 2022.
