read moreAustralians and New Zealanders across the country will have the opportunity to participate in what is set to be the nations’ biggest indoor triathlon on 20th November 2021.
TRIX3, an indoor triathlon event organised by Triathlon Australia in partnership with Belgravia Leisure, is designed to encourage participants aged 10 to 80 years old to take on their first triathlon in a fun, non-competitive and safe environment of a swimming pool, on a stationary bike and on a treadmill.
This year’s TRIX3 triathlon also seeks to encourage sport and activity after prolonged government mandated lockdowns in New Zealand and much of Australia.
The event debuted in 2019 with hundreds of Australians participating in over 30 venues over three weekends.
Expecting an even bigger uptake in 2021, Belgravia Events Chief Executive, David Hansen advised “TRIX3 is the opportunity for anyone and everyone to participate in their first triathlon. They’re designed to bring people together and test themselves in a safe and controlled environment.”
Looking forward to introducing triathlons to new participants through the TRIX3 event, Triathlon Australia Chief Executive, Miles Stewart stated “after a challenging year for sport and fitness, we’re expecting TRIX3 to attract new participants to experience triathlon how it was designed to be - fun.
“TRIX3, being indoors, will break down all the barriers to participation and encourage people who are currently low or even non exercisers to give triathlons a go.”
This year, events will be held at six locations in South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania on Saturday 20th November 2021.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, events in Victoria, NSW and New Zealand will follow in March 2022 when restrictions are expected to have eased.
There are currently two event options available to cater for all fitness levels - TRI-30 minutes and TRI-60 minutes. Early bird entries are on sale now from $59 for adults and include an exclusive TRIX3 series T-shirt and swim cap.
For those who wish to maximise fitness levels before attempting TRIX3 can sign up for the TRIactive 6-Week Program being introduced in the lead up to this event series.
