read moreLeading data intelligence provider ActiveXchange has announce the launch of its Social Value of Sports platform module.
Following the success of the Social Value for Leisure service, enabled through a research partnership with KPMG, this newly launched service aims to revolutionise the way sports organisations and local governments understand current and potential community savings and benefits generated through participation at sporting clubs, facilities and across priority local areas.
Similar to Leisure, the model at the heart of the service will align with the modelling principles behind the Australian Sports Commission’s Value of Community Sport Infrastructure.
The Social Value for Sport service will note how participation in sport generates reduced risk and follow-on quantifiable savings across indicators such as cancers, diabetes, dementia, heart disease, as well as benefits across educational, crime and education attainment.
More than 120 state and national sports already trust ActiveXchange to help unlock the potential of their data, and better inform and connect key decisions.
Social Value will create and shape more relevant conversations around common outcomes and impacts, between those who plan, fund, administer and deliver services for communities across Australia.
The Social Value for Sport service consists of a mapping, dashboard and report module showing the estimated dollar value savings sports generate as a result of different types of members being physically active. The data model considers the type of sport/activity, and the average exertion, duration and occurrences per season of activity (which may vary by level of sport), which, when combined with other inputs that sports will already hold data on, such as age, gender and location of members (which ActiveXchange can use to append SEIFA deprivation information), accurately calculates the ongoing social value and community savings being generated by each sport.
This module is the latest step in ActiveXchange’s journey to empower its network with a partnership that goes beyond traditional data solutions. Our commitment to ongoing data intelligence for our network partners ensures they’re always equipped to unlock the next stage of their data journey, where data can be used to provide valuable insights as they strive to better plan, influence, connect and commercialise their projects.
Announcing the new module, ActiveXchange founder and Chief Executive, Alex Burrows advised “we are thrilled to introduce the Social Value of Sports platform module, as it reflects our unwavering commitment to transforming the sector into a powerful force for positive change.
“We believe this module will help sport organisations and local governments continue to put the right offer, in the right place, at the right time, so as to shape more active and healthy communities”.
Social Value of Sports is an add-on module for both the ActiveXchange for Sports and ActiveXchange for Government platforms which enables the sector to understand the current and potential demand of sports, while providing actionable data insights and intelligence to empower strategic decisions and prioritise resources.
