ACTIVE Network introduces community-based fitness app
Leading activities and events marketplace the ACTIVE Network has announced its latest mobile innovation, the ACTIVEx® app.
Modelled after ACTIVE's own award-winning employee wellness program, the ACTIVEx app connects people based on similar health and activity interests and helps enable the achievement of their fitness goals. From cycling and strength training sessions to 30-day challenge competitions, the ACTIVEx app includes built-in training modules, accountability and encouragement tools, customized high intensity, interval-based workouts, digital personal trainers, and more.
The pioneer ACTIVEx app enables users to build and organise their own active community.
Unlike other fitness apps that focus on the individual, users of the ACTIVEx app are able to create activity groups through ‘packs’ which allows users to build all-inclusive, public or private, supportive environments that facilitate heightened achievement among pack members.
This also enables large groups of people to train together at the same time even if they have different abilities and skill levels. Once part of a pack, members can organise training events, post articles or insightful tips from their own experiences, and comment to celebrate other users' successes.
The ACTIVEx app includes a fully-loaded spin feature that helps users master each skill with digital coaching and specific workouts based on their fitness level. Additionally, the app provides 30-day challenges from perfecting squats to increasing running distance. The app is also integrated with Spotify1 so users can listen to music during their workouts directly from their Spotify2 accounts.
At its core, the ACTIVEx app challenges its users with customised, high-intensity, interval-based workouts through a proprietary training algorithm that provides effective, balanced, and unique workouts every time. Users can create their own interval-based workouts by selecting the type of fitness equipment they are using, the amount of intervals per exercise, and the number of exercises per workout.
High-intensity, interval-based training, widely used in fitness clubs and bootcamp programs, is known for its efficacy, providing quality training in small amounts of time with the potential for significant fitness gains.
The ACTIVEx app is offered as an end-to-end wellness solution for individuals as well as organisations. Where individuals can discover other people and groups, organisations can use ACTIVEx to form deeper connections and goals among their own members or employees.
The inspiration and social proof for the smartphone application is found in ACTIVE's own employee wellness program (ACTIVEx), which provides group-centric activities and ‘best life’ experiences for employees worldwide to positively impact their whole health.
As an incredible testament to the power of the model, ACTIVE Network reports the following results from their ACTIVEx program participants:
•79% stated better overall management of stress and anxiety
•88% expressed an increase in motivation professionally
•96% said they felt a greater connection with their colleagues
