TeamUp shares insights on access and delivery of fitness classes in 2021
December 29, 2020

TeamUp, a supplier of gym management software for boutique gyms, studios and CrossFit boxes suggests that in 2021, fitness businesses are going to take advantage of the opportunity to merge the clients they have gained from teaching online with those of their gyms or studios, by live-streaming their in-person classes to reach both audiences.

TeamUp first launched in 2012. They now have over 3,500+ boutique gyms, studios, personal trainers, CrossFit boxes using their software to streamline and manage their businesses. TeamUp are a customer-focused business - creating solutions for their customers.

TeamUp advise that “in early March when the pandemic hit forcing gyms and studios to close, our team worked day and night for two weeks straight completely focused on getting our Zoom integration up and running so our customers did not have to stop teaching and running their businesses.

“Not only did we our customers jump at the chance to use the Zoom integration to keep their businesses open virtually, but we actually saw even more signups thanks to this new feature and the demand to teach online.

“In November we hit a major milestone at TeamUp, delivering over one million hours of online classes since March.”

As fitness trends for 2021 begin to be released, TeamUp note that a big misconception floating around is people’s desire to stick to online full-time - not wanting to return to the gym or studio.

However, TeamUp suggest that this is not the case and propose that fitness businesses are going to take advantage of the opportunity to merge their clients they have gained from teaching online with those of their gyms or studios, by live-streaming their in-person classes to reach both audiences.

TeamUp add “there is no doubt that online classes have been an incredible solution during the pandemic, but people want to get back to their routines, and back to their gym and studio communities, and have that socialness and camaraderie again.

“And for those who don't or now have circumstances that don't allow them to make every in-person class, they still have the ability to attend live-classes online. It's the best of both worlds, especially as people continue to work from home in 2021.”

One of TeamUp’s providers - who will be teaching online full-time for the foreseeable future as she travels to give live masterclasses and retreats, said "now is the perfect time for trainers and instructors because we do not need to physically be in the same room to access our clients. We can access them online, and still give classes in-person. We have the option to do both, and it's brilliant."

TeamUp note that their software makes signing up for Zoom classes “just as easy as signing up for in-person classes.”

Before class begins, automatic notifications and emails go to the customers that signed up with the link to join the meeting, and once they do they are automatically marked off the register just as they would be if they were attending a class in a gym or studio. Not only does this make it easy for the teachers and instructors to manage, but it makes tracking who is and who is not coming to class very efficient.

In 2021, the theme of the year will be 'delivery 'with TeamUp posing the question 'How can I deliver my workout videos, class content, nutrition plans, services, and more to my clients in a way that keeps things both personal and professional and continues to keep them motivated to stick with their fitness journeys?’

TeanUp are offering a completely free trial to allow any potential customers the opportunity to explore their software before signing up. Their trial doesn't even start until your second customer books - meaning, you can sign up for a trial, explore their software, test it out, and organise your business, and once you have a customer book using the widget on their website, and a second customer books, the trial is then triggered giving you an additional 30 days to see how it works in action.

When you sign up with TeamUp, pricing is determined by the number of customers you have, not by the features and tools you need.
