read moreThe Brisbane Aquatic Centre at Sleeman Sports Complex (SSC) has renewed its agreement with Aquatic Achievers, resulting in one of the longest running partnerships for a learn-to-swim program across Australia.
Perhaps best known as a training facility for Olympic swimmers, SSC is also a location were many young Queenslanders get their first start in the pool.
The Aquatic Achievers program, which delivers more than 17,000 lessons per week nationally and has been teaching children from three months old to 12 years old to swim at SSC for more than 30 years, has a strong focus on safety, progress and confidence around the water.
Advising that the renewed partnership has many benefits for the community, SSC General Manager, Mirella Taylor commented “we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Aquatic Achievers and a looking forward to watching the program continue to grow and help Queensland kids become confident and capable swimmers.
“The Aquatic Achievers learn-to-swim program is a favourite among families in South East Queensland and provides a valuable opportunity for us to continue our community engagement through the program.
“It’s incredible to think that young swimmers participating in the Aquatic Achievers program today could be representing Australia at Brisbane 2032 - it doesn’t get much better than that from our perspective in terms of watching an athlete’s journey.”
Explaining that the group is pleased to continue their long standing partnership with SSC, Aquatic Achievers Head of Operations, Sean Langeveld noted “we are proud to continue our valued relationship with Sleeman Sports Complex, one which we have enjoyed for nearly 30 years.
"We are ready to continue work in creating safe and confident Little Achievers through our learn to swim program, with a number of children going on to become future champions through our partnerships with Chandlers' highly complementary performance swimming ecosystem."
