October 23, 2018

The Symbio Wildlife Park near Wollongong is set to open a new aquatic playground for the summer.

Due for completion in November, the Symbio Splash Park and children’s playground as the latest attractions at the family run zoo, with access included as part of the standard admission and with every season pass.

Park Marketing Manager Kevin Fallon said wet weather is not delaying the construction of the new water feature that will help keep thousands of kids cool this summer.

The foundation and plumbing is now complete and the final components are about to be installed.

Work on a new Moduplay playground is also advanced between the Reptile House and Dingo enclosure.

Fallon advised “the Splash Park will have a large dump bucket and heaps of water tunnels, squirters and water sprayers to keep the kids entertained all summer long. With the ever-growing need for a safe place for the kids to splash around and cool down in summer, the Splash Park will provide just that. The brand-new playground will have swings, flying foxes, jumping pads, slides, fortress and more.”

The new activities are designed to provide safe access for people of all ages and mobility so families can use the area at their leisure during a day out among the animals.

Fallon added “(we) aim to make Symbio the best family fun day out there is.

The Splash Park will have a large dump bucket and heaps of water tunnels, squirters and water sprayers. The playground will have swings, flying foxes, jumping pads, slides, fortress “The Splash Park is set on a 500 metre² pad and is the most expensive infrastructure project ever undertaken in our 45 year history”.

Symbio draws tens of thousands of visitors from Sydney and beyond every year and owners the Radnidge family want to make Symbio the best family fun day out there is.

Fallon concluded “the installation of the new Splash Park as well as the new playground opening at the same time it gives people somewhere they can spend the entire day and know the children are not going to get bored. And it is a safe place where kids can splash around, play and have fun.”
