The Stadium's naming rights signage is part of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust's multi-year partnership with leading insurance company Allianz Australia, which brings together two iconic brands in the historic Sydney CBD sports precinct.
Work to erect the signage was undertaken over two separate periods in April.
The initial work involved the welding of cleats to the external stadium structure to support the 7.3 tonne neon sign.
The final works involve the careful mounting of the sign to the exterior of the Stadium before electrical works were performed.
Allianz Stadium is part of a global collection of international sports arenas sponsored by Allianz.
In April, Allianz was announced as the naming sponsor of the new Palmeiras soccer stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.Allianz also has naming rights agreements with the Allianz Arena in Munich, Allianz Park in London and Allianz Riviera in Nice, France.
The popularity of Allianz Stadium across the sports codes continued in April with sell-out crowds attending the A-League Grand Final between Central Coast Mariners and Western Sydney Wanderers, followed by the traditional ANZAC Day NRL match between Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons.
Allianz Stadium is also a sell-out for the rugby union international between the NSW Waratahs and the touring British and Irish Lions on Saturday 15th June.
