read moreConstruction of Kalgoorlie's new basketball courts is set to be completed in 2024, with the redevelopment of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Basketball Stadium backed by a $5 million Western Australian Government investment.

The total cost of the project is $12.9 million with $3 million from the Australian Government, $4.4 million as part of the Better Building Regions Fund, and $500,000 from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Demolition works on the Outridge Terrace Road Reserve are set to start in coming weeks, with overall construction due for completion in mid-2024.
WA Premier Roger Cook noted "across WA, we're investing in sporting facilities to ensure our regional and suburban communities stay healthy, active and connected.
"The Kalgoorlie Boulder Basketball Stadium redevelopment will continue to benefit kids and adults for years to come."
WA Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman adds "these new basketball courts are eagerly anticipated by hoops enthusiasts in Kalgoorlie and it's fantastic to see the construction on track for completion in 2024.
"Sport and recreation venues are social hubs, especially in regional Western Australia. I'm proud of our Government's ongoing financial support for facilities like basketball stadiums that are vital to creating vibrant, inclusive, connected communities."
