Fitness First and Reebok partner on functional fitness
Fitness First and Reebok have advanced their developing fitness partnership with the launch of a radical new approach to functional fitness.
The first step in the partnership sees the design of a new Fitness First uniform, something the two brands have been collaborating on since early 2014 following the global rebrand of Fitness First.
Created with an emphasis on the functionality of the design, the new uniform will allow employees more comfort and agility in all areas of the gym, both on the floor training members and welcoming guests at reception.
Fitness First National Marketing Manager, Samantha Bragg explained “the new uniform is an important way for us to recognise the vital role our fitness experts play in our member experience.
“Reebok have designed a range in keeping with our fitness philosophy based around Dynamic Movement Training – DMT - that will allow our team comfort and ease of movement when engaging with members.
In keeping with the colours of the new Fitness First brand, both the men’s and women’s uniform will be black and red and include features like ergonomic seam construction for ease of movement, mesh panels for breathability and ‘PlayDry’ technology that wicks sweat from the body.
Bragg adds “partnering with Reebok is a natural fit for Fitness First. Like Reebok, we are passionate about promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and encouraging functionality of movement be that in gym or outside the gym in everyday life.
“It is really important to us, in any collaboration we undertake, that there is a shared understanding on the value of fitness in helping people go further; Reebok is a brand that embodies this drive to push people past their boundaries and strive to go further with their fitness and in life.”
After undergoing a recent brand resurgence, Reebok welcomed the opportunity to partner with Fitness First on the collaboration of the new uniform.
Reebok Australia Brand Marketing Manager Rhys Dal Cin adds “Reebok has a philosophy that is focused around encouraging people to move, working out not just for its physical benefits but also for the mental, social and emotional boost it gives them.
“At Reebok we want to inspire people to push their mental, physical, and social limits to become the best human they can be.
“We hope that the launch of the new uniform will be the first step in a long partnership between Fitness First and Reebok, and that we can both continue to find new ways to connect and challenge people to push themselves harder and further with their fitness and life challenges.”
The new uniform was launched on Thursday 7th May as part of an event at Fitness First Bond Street to highlight Freestyle Group Training (FGT), a form of functional training that is proven to be three times more effective than training with fixed machines.
Next week (11th to 17th May), will see Fitness First stage its annual Fitness Week at every club in its Australian network.
Fitness Week sees Fitness First open its clubs for free for anyone to come in and try out FGT and experience the benefits of being a fitness First member.
