Fast growing EMS (electronic muscle stimulation) personal training franchise company, SpeedFit, continues to expand with a new location opening in North Adelaide, South Australia on Monday 11th April bringing the total number of open studios in the network to 30.

Pioneered in Europe, EMS is an advanced and scientifically proven technological method of training that, in just 20 minutes a week, can help participants recover from injury, get in shape and/or just improve their overall fitness.

SpeedFit began in Perth in 2013, started by Matej Varhalik, who was inspired by his own use of EMS for injury rehabilitation. Since then, SpeedFit studios have become a fitness staple in Australia's west and their popularity has continued to grow since their eastern expansion in 2017. Despite lockdowns across the country, SpeedFit has opened new studios as more people discover the efficacy and benefits of the 20 minute workout.

The new studio is not only the first SpeedFit studio for South Australia but also the first EMS workout available to Adelaidians. The new studio will be owned and operated by local Adelaide businesswoman and health enthusiast, Munira Hassan. Hassan has spent the last 15 years working in the health space as a fitness instructor in Saudi Arabia and a Pilates instructor in London before moving to Australia in 2017 with her husband and two children.  

After having her children, Hassan became even more passionate about longevity and fitness, prompting the decision to open her own studio. It had been a dream of hers for years, and finally she was able to make it a reality through SpeedFit’s flexible franchising options.

Hassan, Owner of SpeedFit, North Adelaide advises “I first got in touch with Matej Varhalik, SpeedFit, co-founder, in 2018, he was very transparent and honest when discussing the business partnership, he told me all of the ups and downs and he never hid anything. I had spoken to other EMS companies but Matej was very different, he knows we are both responsible for the success of the studio and we are working together.   

“I had made up my mind about SpeedFit before even trying a session, my husband and I drove 18 hours from Adelaide to North Sydney to try it out. I suffer from sciatica, after my session I woke up the next day with no pain at all, so after that point I wasn’t just 100% sure I had made the right decision, I was 180% sure!  

“I am super excited to be opening the first SpeedFit studio in North Adelaide…my boys are even more excited than me! I am looking forward to introducing the EMS technology to the locals so they can see and feel the benefits for themselves.”
