Concerts return to Auckland’s Spark Arena
Having been closed during Auckland's Alert levels two and three Coronavirus restrictions, Spark Arena is again open, welcoming fans to sold-out concerts by New Zealand singer/songwriter Benee tonight and tomorrow.
The final show of the tour, which covered eight shows ranging from theatre to arena level in four cities across New Zealand, will be held at the 12,000-capacity Auckland venue.
The show on Saturday (17th October) will be livestreamed, with Live Nation and Republic Records making the concert available to ticketholders in real time, after which a full replay of the show will then be available for fans globally.
Ticket holders will then be able to access the stream on-demand for 48 hours following the performance.
Commenting on the livestreaming, Benee stated “musicians from all over the place are missing the live connection with their supporters right now so I feel incredibly lucky to be able to get back on stage.
“I’m so excited that we’re streaming the Auckland show, it means we can bring my fans from all over into the room with us.”
Spark Arena now has a full range of events scheduled, including a heavyweight boxing clash between Joseph Parker and Junior Fa on 11th December.
The venues' other spaces are also operating with The Cauldron mode offering an intimate seated theatre experience while the club venue and pre-show bar The Great South Pacific Tuning Fork has been back hosting local acts since Auckland entered Alert Level 2.
New Zealand currently has zero community cases of COVID-19 and no restrictions on mass gatherings, therefore allowing events at the Spark Arena to go ahead without any social distancing requirements or mask protocols.
