read moreAdvising that it will introduce “a new level of engineering and analysis to the market”, New Zealand founded Beca Aquatics has announced its arrival in Australia.
A leading independent advisory, design and engineering firm operating across the Asia Pacific region, Beca has a century-long history of operation.
While active in Australia for 50 years, it has not previously offered its specialised aquatics services in Australia.
Beca advises that its success derives from its “experienced team and cutting-edged tools” to optimise facility systems and energy efficiency, which “utilises custom developed software and modelling tools to assess the energy requirements of aquatic facilities, including HVAC systems, dehumidification strategies, pool temperatures, air temperatures, humidity levels and more”.
With more than 150 commercial aquatic projects completed in New Zealand over the last decade - ranging from new construction and redevelopment to decarbonisation strategies - the Beca team says that it “can help your facility reduce energy consumption and save on costs”.
Nick Yannakis
Technical Director and Business Director of Aquatics, Beca
Yannakis, who has recently moved to Beca, identified a need for more efficient aquatic engineering services in New Zealand in the early stages of his career. Since then he has directed his career toward bettering the design and functionality of many aquatic and recreational complexes.

Smith is a sustainable buildings engineer who specialises in translating client sustainability and climate change commitments into the design of building infrastructure, architecture, structures, and systems.
