read moreAustralia’s only Technology Summit for the Fitness and Recreation Industry is to return as a face-to-face event on 21st and 22nd July in Sydney.
Cancelled last year because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit (FRITS) Is set to be the country’s first face to face fitness business event of the year, with the Summit also linking to a new monthly webinar series.
Justin Tamsett, Managing Director of Active Management and founder of the FRITS, explained “the success of the 2019 event meant we would always do it again and we are excited that in 2021 we have three unique aspects to the event that we know delegates will truly value."
In 2021, on the final Friday after every month from January to June there will be a webinar for all delegates to the Summit. This is included in their registration and gives them an opportunity to ask questions to overseas experts who cannot travel to Australia for the event.
Tamsett advises “this gives every delegate six extra hours of education on using technology in their business.”
As a taster, the first webinar on Friday 29th January with Dr Ted Vickey is at no cost. As a world leader in using technology to create experiences for members, he will share the variety of technology to help staff, members and clients.
Tamsett (pictured below) added “we want to give the entire industry an opportunity to hear and see first-hand the quality of speakers we have organised, so the first webinar with Ted is available for the entire industry.”
FRITS will soon reveal the categories for the inaugural Technology Awards that will be given out at the Gala Night on the 22nd July, with the full range of award categories to be announced in March.
In addition, the Gala Night the keynote speaker will be Amanda Stevens.
Stevens, a past presenter at numerous fitness events, knows the industry and is passionate about leading the industry into a strong position post-COVID.
Jess Abbey, FRITS 2021 organiser, noted “we are very excited with what will be a step up on our first event.
“We are still finalising our speaker line up. We will help clubs navigate the legal mind field of data, inspire what is possible for communicating with members, and run to two workshops to take the theoretical knowledge and turn it into actions. Add in the networking drinks and the annual Fitness Business Podcast Meet-up and it will be an action packed two days.”
Tamsett concluded “I believe this will be one very exciting event for the fitness industry in Australia. Two days with 100% focus on technology will help future proof every fitness business.”
Tickets for the Fitness and Recreation Industry Technology Summit are on sale now.
