read moreAustralian Regional Tourism has announced that it has opened registrations for its 2022 Australian Regional Tourism (ART) Convention.
Having planned to host its subsequently cancelled 2020 and 2021 Conventions in the Victorian city, only to be thwarted by lockdowns, ART Chair, Coralie Bell advised “it’s been three years in the making and we cannot wait for the 2022 Convention to happen in-person this year.
“After all we have experienced these last couple of years, it’s time to come together in person and feel connected again.”
Due to be held from 10th to 12th October, the Convention has the theme ‘Regional Australia - Paving the way for a stronger Visitor Economy’.
In addition to the 2022 Convention, ART will be hosting the Agritourism Conference, a one-off event bringing together the agricultural and tourism sectors to unearth the authentic stories of regional Australia and engage in discussions that seek to influence policy and drive regulatory change for the development of agritourism.
The Agritourism Conference will be held on Thursday 13th October 2022, also in Ballarat.
Looking forward to the events, City of Ballarat Mayor, Daniel Moloney stated “Ballarat is thrilled to be able to finally host the Australian Regional Tourism Convention in 2022
“The City of Ballarat and our tourism partners are leaders in regional tourism and we relish the opportunity to show the great work being done in our region to inspire other tourism providers.”
