Australian music fans reveal the artists they most want to see perform live in 2022
December 15, 2021

After almost two years of lockdowns, restrictions and interruptions and with live music finally back on the horizon in 2022, a joint survey by Frontier, Live Nation and TEG has revealed the major artists Australians most want to see perform live next year.

With the return of touring imminent - once state borders reopen and all venue capacity restrictions lift - the nation’s biggest promoters asked vaccinated Australians who entered the Vax-Stage Pass competition which artists they cannot wait to see in 2022.

The results of those 48,000 votes showed that hip hop icon Snoop Dogg - who is set to tour Australia in October and November next year - is the most anticipated live act of 2022

In second place, just, is British heartthrob Harry Styles. The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ star is set to return down under for his ‘Love on Tour’ shows across the country. Featuring hit singles ‘Adore You’, ‘Golden’, and ‘Lights Up’, Style’s latest ‘Fine line’ album achieved an array of history-making records and topped the charts at #1 in over 20 countries. This will be the first time Styles performs these hits Down Under.

Close behind in third place are ageing glam rock band KISS, followed by rock heroes Guns N’ Roses in fourth and emo-favourites My Chemical Romance in fifth. Rounding out the top 10 are Grammy award-winner Tyler, the Creator, followed closely by Australian global chart-topper The Kid LAROI, Californian five-piece Faith No More, five-time ARIA and four-time Grammy winner Keith Urban and multi-ARIA award-winning singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian.

Looking forward to 2022, Frontier, Live Nation and TEG advised in a joint statement “the live entertainment industry has done its bit to encourage vaccinations and we are thrilled to give away these, the biggest live entertainment prizes in Australian history, to five entrants and their special guests.

“Vax-Stage Pass is a collaborative effort from Australia’s top live entertainment promoters and we are proud that, along with the VAXTHENATION campaign, it has made its own contribution to the nation’s vaccine rollout. We cannot wait to get Australia dancing and enjoying the magic of live again in 2022.”

Soaring vaccination rates across the country have put Australia back on track to enjoy the world’s greatest live entertainers next year and get back to the gigs, concerts, events, and festivals that the nation has missed.

Five lucky music fans who participated in the survey will receive ‘Vax-Stage Passes’ comprising two tickets to every arena and stadium tour each company promotes in Australia in 2022.
