5,500 health and fitness club members have completed the member's side of the Australian Fitness Industry Survey in only 24 hours.

The Australian Fitness Industry Survey run by Ezypay, is now in its fourth year, and combines a memberâs survey and a club owners/managers survey.

This year the survey will focus on the hot topic of communicating to members using social media channels like Face book, LinkedIn, and Twitter to name a few.

Ezypay Marketing Manager Simon Hall (pictured) explains "we will be asking members about their use of these channels and more importantly their receptiveness to communication in this channel."

Hall adds that questions include, "Do they use face book? Do they like to use the club's website? Would they like to interact with their club via their Facebook page? Would they prefer twitter updates? Do members even read the notice boards in clubs? Do they like to track their fitness goals using online tools?"

This is one of the largest health and fitness membership surveys of its kind in the world with over 14,000 members responding to the survey over the last two years. The data collected has been used in many articles, conference presentations, and comments by industry experts in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

The results from the member and the owners/managers surveys create other information besides raw data.

Hall adds "we have produced an expert discussion series available in PDF and video (Expert panel). We have also created an annual trend report and ongoing trend alerts for the industry (Trend report)."
