2XU Performance Centre opens at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre

2XU Performance Centre opens at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
October 9, 2014

Leading high performance athletic apparel brand recently opened the doors to a brand new 2XU Performance Centre within the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

Offering a new kind of activity orientated retail experience within MSAC, the new Performance Centre resonates with 2XU’s 11 other established retail stores across Australia.

However, the new outlet presents a more advanced 2XU design, with a futuristic and innovative layout to enhance the sports shopping experience for MSAC users and athletes at all levels.

Explaining his satisfaction with the MSAC’s alliance with the high performance apparel brand, Melbourne Sports Hub Chief Executive Simon Weatherill states "2XU is a fantastic brand and such a great fit with our organisation.

“Its high quality products can be used by every sport played at our venues and will add another reason for Melbournians to visit MSAC.

“Our two brands are closely aligned, with endless opportunities to work together to the benefit of both organisations."

Taking over the main MSAC Shop, the 2XU Performance Centre is at the forefront of the sporting complex and will carry the brand’s full range of Run, Fitness, Compression, Triathlon and Cycle collections. 2XU has also been appointed MSAC’s official uniform supplier.

2XU Chief Executive Kevin Roberts is equally happy with the launch of the brand’s 12th Australian Performance Centre.

Roberts explains "2XU is excited about this partnership (with) MSAC. The team at 2XU looks forward to helping MSAC members multiply their athletic performance by wearing 2XU high performance apparel.”

With a relentless commitment to engineering world-class garments from fabrics delivering tangible benefits to the wearer, 2XU (Two Times You) sets the benchmark in high performance sports apparel. Ongoing testing, research and consultation with professional sporting bodies, is integral to the brand’s winning formula.

Founded in Melbourne in 2005, 2XU is driven by a mission to advance human performance through the development of world-leading athletic garments. In its first year, 2XU graced the skin of multiple World Champion athletes and has since formed powerful alliances and key partnerships with World Champions across the globe in numerous sports including triathlon, cycling, swimming, netball, AFL, football, NRL, NFL, NBA and running.

2XU is also the exclusive Official Compression Supplier to the Australian Institute of Sport, IRONMAN®, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).

Located in Melbourne’s Albert Park and part of the Melbourne Sports Hub group of major sporting facilities, MSAC houses a range of aquatic, fitness, recreation and sporting facilities, hosts international and national events and is home to professional athletes and various sporting organisations.

Melbourne Sports Hub covers many of Victoria’s leading sporting facilities and attracts more than 2.8 million visitors each year including top athletes, spectators, and the hundreds of thousands of regular users of its pools, courts and gym.

As well as MSAC, Melbourne Sports Hub includes the State Netball Hockey Centre, Lakeside Stadium and MSAC Institute of Training.

Melbourne Sports Hub is governed by the State Sport Centres Trust and employs more than 450 staff. It is also home to some of the Victoria’s key sporting associations.
