Victorian State Sports Centre Trust (which manages MSAC) Chief Executive Simon Weatherill is known to have been keen to install a FlowRider for a number of years but had to prioritise additions for the 2006 Commonwealth Games and a wellness centre before being able to add to the Centre's water leisure attractions.
MSAC is to installation a FlowRider Double attraction on a site located between MSAC's outdoor lap (Commonwealth water polo) pool and Albert Park's Aughtie Drive.
The FlowRider surrounds will be designed to allow disabled access and a kiosk from which it will be managed.
Weatherill expects that "the FlowRider will be a big attraction for the youth and teenage market.
"We will program it like any program space with passes for off peak use and working on a fee per ride at peak hours."
