Victorian State Sports Centre Trust (which manages MSAC) Chief Executive Simon Weatherill is known to have been keen to install a FlowRider for a number of years but had to prioritise additions for the 2006 Commonwealth Games and a wellness centre before being able to add to the Centre's water leisure attractions.

The FlowRider surrounds will be designed to allow disabled access and a kiosk from which it will be managed.
